Hangershell Rock

Hangershell Rock stands proud in an area between Piles Hill and Butterdon Hill. From the amount of debris around the rocks it suggests it may have been a larger tor previously before being broken up by the elements. The views towards Penn Beacon to the west are good although southwards the views is obscured by Butterdon Hill. The best approach to this one is along the Two Moors Way from Ivybridge. Also keep an eye out for the Butterdon Stone Row which lies a short distance to the east. There are no military firing areas here.
