After getting a taster for Lakeland fell walking last summer with our Helvellyn walk (here), this was our second Wainwright and a much more sedate family friendly walk and the boys first attempt at a fell. Rain threatened later in the walk as we reached the summit but thankfully stayed away, although it did cool the temperature down a fair bit, making it very cool at the summit! My youngest had walked all the way to the summit (not bad for 2 1/2 years old) but was whacked as we left resulting in me carrying him back down again!
