Murky Great Mell Fell

My last walk of a fantastic week in the Lake District and I guess eventually it had to rain, forecast said it would stop just before lunch, so I figured a bit of shopping and a bite to eat in Keswick and a quick walk before the long drive to Plymouth. Great Mell Fell was the choice, as its near to the motorway and wouldn’t take to long to get up and down. Unfortunately, despite leaving the start time until 12.30pm, the rain hadn’t finished and became heavier as I reached the summit. The clag was down and it made for a pretty miserable walk, I saw two other guys just as I reached the road at the bottom, they were also soaked through, we all looked at each other and just laughed!! Still it’s better than being indoors!
