South Hessary Tor

Bitterly cold day on Dartmoor and only a shortish walk to South Hessary Tor and back. Starting from the Princetown car park and heading along the path behind the Plume of Feathers pub (used at the end!!). It’s a walk that requires little effort and no special navigation as the tor is right next to the path!! Perfect for a dull day.

Start – Princetown car park
Route – Plume of Feathers – South Hessary Tor – Plume of Feathers
Distance – 2 1/2 miles    Start time – 13.15pm     Time taken – 1 1/2hrs    Highest Point – South Hessary Tor  450m
Weather – Two halves to Dartmoor, for us in the south very dull with sunshine to the north
