Hard Knott and Border End

Fourth walk in the Lakes and a chance to catch a glimpse of the highest points in England, The Scafells, as well as look at the fantastic Eskdale. It also meant a trip across one of the toughest driving roads in the land, with first the Wrynose Pass and then the Hardknott Pass to be crossed. Once parked up I had a visit to the old Roman fort at Hard Knott before then ascending the fell of the same name and then heading around to Border End. Walking up from the Hardknott Fort meant a pathless climb as the main path starts from the parking spots at the top of Hardknott Pass. After the recent overnight rain it was also fairly boggy. Still its better than being in the office!!
