So after having 6 walks in a row on the coastal path, we decided to keep the run going with another trip away. Only just back from Bideford and walks around Hartland Point, and we were off again, this time towards St Ives and Land’s End. We also had company, with the boys also coming, as they had finished their exams and we wanted to get away before the school’s properly broke up. We’d booked a small place near to St Erth and headed off early in the morning to bag a coastal walk on the way down. There is a longish section from Pendeen Point up to nearly Newquay, that I haven’t yet done, so we picked a spot along there that gave us access to a supermarket, so we could pick up some goodies for the stay. Linda found the right starting spot on the maps and the walk was fairly obvious from there, as I found a decent loop inland to take us back. As it was we enjoyed the coastal section so much, that we returned the same way. Its a very simple out and back, with hardly any climb or drop to worry over. Its also a very popular spot with locals, who clearly know this bit is here, giving such great views for very little effort. There are also plenty of places you can stop and turn around if you don’t fancy the 6 miles in total. A perfect little bimble spot to start this getaway.
Start – Basset’s Cove
Route –South West Coastal Path – Crane Castle – Reskajeage Downs – North Cliffs – Deadman’s Cove – Hudder Down – Hell’s Mouth – North Cliffs – Reskajeage Downs – Basset’s Cove

I’ve walked several sections of that bit of coastline. We used to take regular holidays in Cornwall when the kids were small but we haven’t been back for many years. The beautiful images from the walk have me pining to go back. I don’t miss the crowded car parks and beaches though
This bit didn’t seem too bad for car parking. There were 4 or 5 in about 2 miles so it spread things out a bit, quite a lot were vans as well, if you know what I mean 😉
Beautiful photos! The color of the water is so pretty!

Oh that coastline is so beautiful, and the little coves and inlets with their sandy beaches very appealing!

Couldn’t see a way safely down to quite a lot of the beaches, but there were a fair few that you could and they looked lovely
