Bigbury Beach

Time for something a little different, this was my last day on holiday before heading back to work the next day. I’d not been to Bigbury for a while and whilst the car park charges are steep its a good place for a little walk, especially across to Burgh Island. The tide was just about right allowing for a walk across the beach to the island as the tide retreated to its low lying state. This was also the second sunset in 2 days for me and provided a beautiful end to the holiday.

Looking across the sandy causeway to Burgh Island, the tide is retreating and it won’t be long before you can walk across.

The sea tractor for now ferries people to and fro to the pub and the Burgh Island Hotel behind

A smidge of cloud got in the way of a perfect sunset but it was still lovely looking across Bigbury Bay from Burgh Island

Back down on the beach now as the sun sets casting a lovely colour over the water in front of me

    • Yes been in the sea tractor once a few years ago and it is cool. Its a lovely spot, I’d forgotten how nice to be honest. One of those things where its great to go to new places and see new things, but sometimes a revisit back to an old favourite gives just as much joy.

  1. We went to Bigbury a few years ago and loved it. Thanks for sharing. I have just started a poetry blog here on WordPress in case you have time to look? Have a good day, Sam 🙂
