Sittaford Tor and Kit Rocks

First big walk back in Devon for a while and wanted to go somewhere new and somewhere I knew! Sittaford Tor looked good plus a walk across to Kit Steps and then back along the East Dart via the waterfall. The weather didn’t really play ball for the first half of the walk, especially on Sittaford Tor when the cloud was down. Conditions underfoot weren’t much better and it’s a boggy trudge from Sittaford Tor to Kit Steps for sure, I turned south at Kit Steps and missed out Kit Rocks this time but I’ll be back to bag this outcrop at some point.

Having seen very few people all day, there was a crowd at Postbridge Clapper!! A fab walk though if a little boggy in spots

  1. My wife and I followed this route last Saturday 23rd July 2016. A good mix of paths and moorland and an interesting route down the East Dart river via the waterfall.

    • Glad you enjoyed the walk and thanks for the feedback. I’m a huge fan of the East Dart Waterfall, one of my favourite spots on the moor, I have to say the area around Statts House can be boggy and obviously around Kit Rocks is the Broad Marsh which isn’t to be messed with!!
